Teams FAQ

All students and educators please be sure that you take the following steps before March 10:

  1. Complete your registration in the Innovation Lab and update all your profile fields.
  2. Students: Complete your media release, evaluation consent form, & your COVID testing consent form
  3. Coaches: Complete your media release.
  4. Students & Coaches: Most importantly, be sure to complete the ReturnSafe App with your vaccine information.  All students and educators will also be required to take a rapid antigen COVID 19 test prior to boarding the bus on March 10. All test kits were sent to your coach for distribution.  You must take the test within 24 hours of March 10, preferably the evening of March 9, and upload your negative results in Return Safe prior to boarding your bus at your school.   5. Complete Step 1 of the Playbook and submit in the Innovation Lab with your team by March 8.

The Aspen Institute regards the health and safety of its staff and participants as our highest priority and is committed to doing its part to end the COVID-19 pandemic. All attendees MUST show that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 via the Return Safe App.  If you qualify for one of the exemptions, The Aspen Institute will provide access to a rapid antigen test, and supply all participants with a mask.  Please see the Resource Page for Return Safe App Instructions.

Guests who are unvaccinated will be required to wear a mask at all times, except when actively eating and drinking.  We will provide masks when you arrive at the event.

Studio Be – Graham Center Ballroom  The address is: 2941 Royal Street, New Orleans, LA 70117.

There will be two schools sharing a bus based on the geographic location of your school to the venue.  Coaches will receive their exact bus departure time the week of April 18 via an email from Olivia, and the schedule will be posted in Google Classroom.  You will likely be picked up between 7-7:45am, and return to the school between 7:30-7:45pm.

Please encourage team members to “dress for success”- jeans are appropriate!

Definitely!  We will have breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks galore!

Come with an open mind and be present! Listen to your peers present their solutions and support the hard work that they’ve accomplished over the last 8 weeks.  Also, be sure to have fun!

In the unfortunate event that a student team member or coach is unable to attend the event, we will send you directly to the viewing platform for the event on April 28.

Yes! There will be an option to have you join your team’s presentation virtually during the judge Q&A time frame.  Please be sure to inform your coach if you will be participating remotely, and we will ensure you have access to the platform for remote participation.

Yes, a recording of the event will be available Tuesday, May 3 following the event and posted in the Innovation Lab and on www.aspenchallenge.org

All guests and judges please RSVP by emailing Cara Minardi at cara.minardi@aspeninstitute.org.  Most importantly, be sure to complete the ReturnSafe App with your vaccine information, unless you are exempt from this requirement.  For Return Safe App instructions and a list of exemptions, please click here.  We will have a testing service onsite that will conduct any rapid tests for unvaccinated individuals.  These tests will be administered by a registered nurse and covered by the Aspen Institute.
